The Heal Institute
Designing a Visitor Companion for an Immersive Museum Experience
Commissioned by Marshmallow Laser Feast and developed in collaboration with Superflux, this project was part of the permanent exhibition at the Museum of the Future in Dubai.
Our role focused on designing a unique handheld device that acts as a digital companion for visitors exploring the Heal Institute – one of the museum’s key immersive spaces.
The project combined storytelling, interaction design, and technology to guide users through a multi-sensory journey. The device allowed visitors to engage directly with installations and navigate the museum through interactive prompts and learning moments centred on ecosystems, climate and interdependence.
We led the entire UX and UI design process, from concept to delivery. This included rapid prototyping, interface design for dual-screen displays, and product management. We also collaborated closely with the development team to bring the experience to life in Unity, ensuring the interface was both intuitive and responsive in a physical museum setting.
