Digital Pointillism

Photography has long been central to our artistic identity, shaping how we explore and question visual representation in the age of new technologies. Digital Pointillism is a research-driven project that reinterprets photography through the lens of computer vision.

This series began as a commissioned exploration, allowing us to further investigate the relationship between point clouds, photogrammetry, and digital image-making. By processing these datasets in Cinema 4D, we uncovered a new perspective on reality—one where light is replaced by spatial data, and traditional photography evolves into a data visualisation.

Much like the Impressionists redefined how we see nature, we approach this project as a study of perception—where the computer’s eye reconstructs the world in fragmented points, revealing an alternative, data-driven vision of reality.
